Your kitchen
Yes, I hear you; you use the cake mixer, the blender, the coffee maker and toaster almost every day. It is so convenient. You just use it, wash the accessories and put them back again in the same place. It is like a vicious cycle that takes a while for us all to break. The problem is that regardless of how clean is your kitchen, if you have a lot of clutter with these and other electric appliances, the place is going to look small and unattractive. However, there is hope and the key word is CHANGE. We can make small sacrifices in life and this will be only one of them. If you put all these appliances away, and leave just decorative bowls, flowers or simple decorative pieces, your kitchen will look huge and clear of clutter. Make the effort, you will enjoy it.

Another reason why you should keep your place clutter free is if you want to sell your Home: Your home is your most expensive investment. I am sure that you would like to get top dollars from a buyer. A few small changes can make that investment pay off real well. However, you must be realistic. A real estate broker can help you meet that goal if you make needed changes in your home. A dated home and décor will not sell well. A buyer is not interested in your personal things. They are coming to your home to see how that space will work for them and their family. Therefore, my first hack to you, declutter all your personal stuff. For this and tons of great advise about how to organize your home to make it look as though it was stage by a pro, talk to your real estate agent. Today, however, we are going to focus on your living room:
The Living Room: This is the first room that you, your friends and everyone see when they come to your home. First impressions are important. Make an effort to keep this room looking clutter free and current. To accomplish a nice look, you can update a dated living room by RELOCATING the room furniture completely or partially and by reducing the number of pieces not needed to give the room a spacious look. Paint, paint, paint in neutral colors. If you want to go bold just do an accent wall. Think neutral furnishings, beige, whites, chocolate, etc. Then use pop colors in your accessories. For example, if your sofa cushions are in print designs, get some inexpensive color only pillows. You can get them at stores like Ikea, Target or even Walmart. On the contrary, if your furniture cushions are colored only, no designs, then get decorative pillows with simple designs that are current, such as chevron or geometrics. Finally, do not forget the flooring and window treatment. You will be surprise how new and fresh everything will look in that room. I can think about one particular reason why you should declutter your home; to live in a more organized environment, where you can find everything in place, feel proud and relax and have the feeling of living in a five start hotel, for FREE. Today we are going to tackle: The Home Office. What do you think is behind this door? Will show you later in this post, keep reading please. I don’t know about you but I feel that every household must have a place to do the home finances, like paying bills, conduct internet research and perhaps, work on texts, /emails. If you have the luxury of a home with a designated home office, that’s great. However, lots of families, not having that, use a corner here or there, or have a desk in a visible site that is not pleasant to look at. The good news is that you can create an office without clutter in any non-traditional space. Let’s say that you have a coats closet and you live in the south, where it doesn’t snow. You can use that space for your home office. Take a look at these photos and think if you can develop the same project in your home. All you need to do is bring an electric outlet in order to use a lamp and put a couple of shelves on top for your files and office supplies. The challenge is out now.
Part 1: The Bedroom
Very few small changes can make a big difference in your home. The good news is that you do not need to hire an interior decorator or set aside a large budget to accomplish a modern, industrial, classy or funky look, depending on your taste. Today we are going to focus on the bedroom. Since it is the place where you go at the end of a stressful work day, it should be homey, calmly and free of clutter. Paint: To change your bedroom, start by painting the room in a bold color, like chocolate brown or mustard yellow. For a nice contrast, paint the trims off-white/beige. What an economical way to give your room a total new look. Also, think about painting the ceiling, you can go bold there too. Comforter Set: Get a new lighter color comforter and decorative pillows. You can get them as cheap or as expensive as you can afford. Some inexpensive complete sets come as “Bed-in-a-Bag”, including the comforter, pillow cases, sheets and some even include the bed ruffle. Most of them are quite pretty. Night Tables: You can also paint your night tables using a light beige color or if you prefer, keep them dark. Finally, just place a lamp and a small decorative piece on top to avoid clutter. Now, Sweet Dreams! |
