There’s only ONE positive that COVID-19 brought with it and that was FAMILY UNITY.
I am not saying that before COVID we were disconnected or detached from each other. To explain it further, I would like to say that the life that we were living before COVID-19 was extremely complicated, fast, intense and so massive that left us exhausted with minimal or not enough time to mingle and share significant time with our families and friends.
This is a good example: Both parents are employed, (some with odd daily hours) and with children; either toddlers, and/or teens. After work they get home to pay bills, cook, or order take out, answer texts, emails, do house chores, etc. Before they know it, is 9:00 PM and they still have to make sure the kids did their homework and go to bed on time.
If my description fits you, you may have few minutes to take a deep breath and hope that you can still stay awake to watch the late night news, so that you are not detached from what’s happening in our country and the world. The whole fife CHANGED!
Now thank God, we have THE NEW NORMAL and it looks like this:
Isn’t this new normal awesome? Families finally have the time that was taken from them many years ago, when technology got off the hook and the iPhone came out. Now we all can plant the veggies gardens, enjoy our family like our parents and grandparents did and bake homemade bread! Boom!
Therefore, friends, please enjoy THE NEW NORMAL while it last and let’s all pray that this positive trend stays with us forever!
This is such a simple way to bring the outdoors in, especially from what is flowering in your garden at the time.
The greens are always abundant. If the Hostas are out, cut a few to give dimension to the arrangement. If not, just cut some other greenery or a small tree branch.
For flowers, you don’t need much. Few will do the trick and voila, you have a beauty to enjoy!
What a cutie, I made this bracelet and at the end added a Panda charm. Come to think of it, my theme was mostly animal related because the spotted beads can definitely describe a Dalmatian dog.
A Dalmatian is a medium to large size dog breed that is popular for its unique white coat with black or liver color spots.
Ok, so today I was bored and decided to go to my craft room to check it out and see what I can put together to get excited. While there, I saw some of my odd beads containers. Yes, the ones where I put all my leftover beads, especially the ones that I don’t like that much.
I decided to give them another opportunity and suddenly, it occurred to me to do a mixed-matched bracelet. I selected some of the large beads, then added some matching pieces to bring the bracelet together and also, to use in making the earrings.
The outcome of my “effort’ was not that bad and the bracelet looks kind of cool. Therefore, I made earrings to match it and done. Time to go somewhere, oh with face mask and keeping my distance!
Do I have to say anything about these pieces? No, because the colors that I selected are so sweet and the charm and separator beads are cute and definitely, saying it all.
I am grateful to all of you for sending me birthday wishes through FB under: Creating a Story Cards, FB posts, private messenger, texts, emails, phone calls, face time and in person. I hope that I didn't miss anyone.
I can’t believe that almost 100 people thought about me on my special day. I love you all and I feel honor to have you as friends.
I had these black beads and looking into my many bead trays, found these other odd sizes, turquoise color beads. So, I decided to combine them with some gold tones and the result was awesome and unique looking. I bet you can’t find them at any store, smile. Think about using them with a white dress. Fabulous!
We are always looking for ideas to keep busy, occupied, entertained and avoid boredom during social distancing. Arts and Crafts come to mind as one way to accomplish that goal.
If you have a sewing machine, (or even if you don’t) you are in luck. Why not work on something that may benefit you and your family, and perhaps your friends? MASKS.
There are several patterns on the internet that you can download and print at home. They are very easy to make. (And again, some do not need a sewing machine.) If you have an old cotton blouse, shirt or even a bandana, then you have the primary material to make a mask at home.
You will feel so proud of whatever you create. Furthermore, it will take a good chunk of your day, keep you occupied and focus. It’s good cabin therapy! Smile.
Therefore, since me and my daughters sew, I decided to get mask-crafty. Yesterday, I made my first mask ever. Not 100% to my like, (bummer), but it was my practice project. Hey, I will get there and after all, it doesn’t look that bad after I add on my shades and a hat for extra protection, smile. Thank God I don’t have to go to the bank soon, or they may think it’s an assault and call the police, ha, ha, ha!
OK, so, who doesn’t like the color purple? Not me. I love the different tones of this color.
My craft today shows you that with imagination, simple beads and charms you can make pieces that are unique, attractive and captivating. What are you waiting for?
I simply love to use these types of colors when making jewelry. The reason why is that you can go shopping everywhere for what you need at the moment or a gift that you want to give away and chances are, you will not find the colors that you are looking for and if you do, you may not like the design.
Therefore, go to the bead shop and start learning how to make these beauties.
