MEMORIES: Re-purpose Something Old Predestined to end in our Land Fields. Let's do it OFTEN!

I am always trying to look for alternatives for the many items that people discard. Many just need to be cleaned with water and soap and after this process; the restoration options are somewhat unlimited. As they said, some peoples trash are others treasures. We are lucky to use this planet now but cannot be too selfish. We must ensure that it will be used by your children, grandchildren and many generations to come. To ensure that, we need to take charge now and do as little or as much to keep our natural resources beautiful.

I am a fan of Habitat for Humanity’s Re-Stores. They carry a number of items in the stores that you can purchase for few dollars and re-purpose them. In the process:

1. You help this organization to help others less fortunate in our communities.
   
   
2. You feel good about yourself for being creative and thrifty.
   
   
3. Finally, you re-used an item that was supposed to go to our landfills and make it look fantastic.
   
   

I bought this Adirondack chair for $5. It was in good shape but dirty. It was “white”. I just pressure washed it and painted it. The end result was a new life for this chair in my back yard for years to come. It only cost me $5 for the chair and $3.85 for a can of outdoor spray paint.
