The Hodge-podge of fall colors are so well represented in these Magnolia tree leaves wall arrangement. The leaves turn this pretty after they drop from the tree. This is perhaps one of my favorite trees. The two glossy green leaves that you see in this arrangement, are a good example of the almost year-round color of the Magnolia tree, since it is an evergreen. However, once the leaves mature, they become bright yellow and fall. Once down, the transformation begins and trust me, the colors for your projects won’t disappoint. I just added some acorns to this arrangement to keep up with the fall theme. Come on now, go to your backyard and get crafty today! Materials 1 rounded base (I used a discarded brie cheese container I found at Costco, about 13” in diameter; however, you can use any plate or charger plate or any round base that you may have at home) (free) 15-20 Magnolia tree leaves, the more colors the better. (free) Glue gun Acorns 2 inches of fine twine to glue in the back to hang it Directions Clean all leaves with a wet paper towel and allow them to dry. Glue the tops to the acorns if they are detached** Glue the leaves and acorns in any pattern design that you like. Glue a small piece of twine in the back in order to hang it in the wall. ** (Remember to put the acorns in the oven for 30 minutes at 175 degrees to remove any insects they may have and then let them cool at room temperature before using)

We all know that the Fall Season is beautiful but also a bit sad. Why? Simply because a lot of the landscape including seasonal flowers die and then the perennials go dormant. Therefore, you cannot enjoy them anymore until next year.
At least one thing that we can do now is enjoying whatever is left alive before they are totally gone by working on making flower arrangements. By bringing these flowers indoors, we can benefit from their shapes, beauty and colors before they are totally done. Then as a last token, if they are annuals or perennials that can be planted by seeds, we can save the seeds and do it all over again the following year. Sweet! I was doing my daily walks and about 10 minutes from my home I saw 2 white flower box planters, 33” long, on top of the recycle bin. I didn’t think much of it until I got close to them and noticed that the planters were in total perfect condition, not even scratched, however, they were all covered with mud.
So, I tried to keep walking but my brain said, go back to that home, get the 2 planters and try to bring them back to life. I always hate to see stuff that can be recycled/repaired/repurposed going to our land fields. Well, I went back, got them, brought them home and seriously wash/ scrubbed them cleaned with all my strength. Then went to Home Depot and purchase paint spray, painted them, filled them with soil and placed some plants in there. Out of curiosity, I checked how much these babies sell in stores. Checked in macy’s.com and they sell one 2” longer for $25.11 wow, I saved myself $50.22 by rescuing these guys. Now, by looking at the final job, who said they were rescued because they were about to be trashed for good? UPDATE: BELIEBVE IT OR NOT, THE NEXT DAY I WENT TO MY DECK TO ENJOY THE PLANTER AND SQUIRREL(S) HAD TURN IT UPSIDE DOWN, ALL PLANTS AND SOIL SPREAD ALL OVER THE DECK. OH WELL, I HAD TO REPLANT IT AGAIN. The most warming decorations of the season are done by combining pumpkins with other items to embellish homes inside and out. The pumpkin color is the knockout; therefore, it doesn’t matter if you use fresh from the grocery store or plastic from the craft store, either way they will be enough reason for people to stop by for a second to enjoy your simple yet artistic stunning creation. Happy Pumpkin Season and Happy Halloween to All ! What a beauty. Each time I see a butterfly, I stop what I am doing and take my time to enjoy it, since they are one of nature’s most spectacular beauties.
Some people say that when they approach you, they are somehow a loved one who passed away and is coming to visit you. I want to believe that and probably so will you, smile. So, this sweet girl is moving temporarily from the east to the west. An important factor is that in spite of the fact that she is stunning gorgeous, she needs to look fabulous every single day. Therefore, I decided to work on a little something for her.
Von Voyage Sweetie!!!! Purple Coneflower (Echinacea) is another perennial plant that grows in my garden year after year, tons of it and requires almost no special care or no care at all. There are several variations and it comes in other colors as well, like orange, red and white.
You will not regret purchasing one or more of these plants, because they will give you more free plants every year. BONUS: Butterflies loves them! Again, another flower arrangement for my garden window that cost me nothing, smile. Who has seen this flower before? Anyone? Well, I must say, if you haven’t don’t feel bad. The name is Heliconia or False Lobster Claw. Of course, it is a tropical plant and if you look carefully, the leaves mimic those of its cousin Bird of Paradise or even the old mighty banana tree leaves.
This is one of those exotic specimens that you do not get to see often. This is also an amazing example of how Mother Nature create these amazing miracles that as we all know, no man alive can create. Let’s just enjoy this beautiful and strange flower. A simple set because as you know by now, girls never have too many jewelries sets to keep up looking fabulous. It was her birthday, and I definitely hope that she liked them, smile!
Again, these are supposed to be shade plants, however, I tell you this; I have some in the front of my home, where the sun shines with a vengeance. Well, guess what? They still thrive the best they can. I am also guilty of not taking great care of them as I should and still, they forgive me and put out a nice show during summer time.
Thank You Mother Nature!!!! |
