CRAFTY MONDAY - FREE FALL DECORATIONS THANKS TO MOTHER NATURE AND AN EMPTY BOTTLE OF WINE!10/10/2016 The other day while I was working on my morning walks, I noticed that there were all kinds of fallen twigs and branches on the ground from all the rain that we been having lately. Suddenly, a light bulb popped out of my brain. Maybe I can collect a few of these natural materials and come up with some sort of fall decoration. Well I did and this is what I came up with. Materials you will need: 2 empty wine bottles, labels removed Glue gun or Arts and Crafts glue Fallen twigs Fallen tree bark Couple of inches of ribbons to wrap around the neck and to make a bow. 1 silk flower desirable, a fall season color. ($1.00) Directions The only uninteresting work you will do in this project is removing the bottles label. HACK: Fill the bottles with hot water and then submerge them in a container with more hot water. After 5 -10 minutes, the labels will begin to detach. If you need to do it again, repeat the process. Let the bottle dry completely and think about what design you want to use. Since these are natural materials, make sure you clean them well before starting your project with a slightly wet paper towel. There is no wrong or right way to assemble the materials in the bottles. Simply wrap three bark or leaves around them, using the glue gun to attach. On the birch bark, since it was naturally round, I just pull it through the bottle neck down to the middle and secured it with just a dab of glue. Took me a couple of seconds. The rest is up to you, there is no rule to dictate what you would like, and you can use any material found outdoors that looks interesting to you. Therefore, if you like it, do it. Have fun with it, that’s the primary goal of doing artsy stuff!
