When we cook at home we ended up with an abundance of scraps that have the potential to become veggies and herbs. What I do is to mix them with other store purchased herbs that I don’t want to grow from seeds and then wait for the results.
So, I decided on my 2021 scraps experimenting and cut bottoms of veggies, place them in water and pray for roots to develop. My selection this year included: Celery Beets Green onions Basil and Cuban oregano Rosemary Then I purchase Lemon Thyme and added it to the container. OUTCOME/RESULTS: Celery (FAIL) Beets (FAIL) Green onions (SUCCESS) Basil (FAIL) Cuban oregano (SUCCESS) Rosemary (SUCCESS) Never be afraid to fail, since there will always be a lesson to learn to improve next time. Therefore, get your veggies scraps, put them in water and change the water regularly until they develop roots. Finally, plant them in good soil.
