Yes, when it comes to gardening, we all want to get flowers in few days or tomatoes for next week's dinner. Well, no. Instant gratification doesn’t work here. It is the relaxing task of making decisions such as what to plant and where; and how much these materials will cost vs. what satisfaction and fresh organic produce will I get.
A couple of months ago I was at a Walmart Garden Center looking for plants. I came across this amazing deal of annual flowers at $.99 cents. So I purchased them, in spite of the fact that they were about 4” tall. Then I went home and put three plants in each one of my hanging baskets. They looked real small for a couple of months but my patience paid off. Now you can see the before and after and be the judge. Perhaps next year, instead of paying $15 to $35 dollars per flower basket for your deck or porch, you will be patient and spend about $3.00 total per basket.
