When I am not in a party, crazy and super fun mood, I go to Crescent Beach for that special me, myself and I time. The plus is that I involve myself in a scavenger hunt for a variety of shells and I am never ever disappointed.
The sand of this particular beach is of a darker color but still beautiful. It does remind me that nature is second to none and that what God created a man cannot.

Venice is packed with attractions. A family friendly beach that guarantee a relaxing time for all. There are plenty of ways to get out there and reconnect with nature. Nothing beats the view of the water any time of the day, let alone experiencing the sunsets. Venice beach (Caspersen) is called the Shark Tooth Capital of the World. The reason why is that many fossilized shark teeth wash up on the coastline of Venice. Kids and parents love to find them as well as shells. However, is illegal to remove and keep a living shell from the beach. Also, there is the Jetty and the Fishing Pier. The Pier is 720 feet long, 22 feet wide and 20 feet high and it stands in water up to 18 feet deep. I personally love to walk this Pier. This month, I will be posting weekly “A Day Trip to the Beach”. Beaches are my favorite places on earth, followed by any place in the country, wherever I get to see the mountains. Just to say that I was fascinated on my trip to Alaska, because the mountains are totally insane!
But back to my blog posts, I selected Siesta Key to start the series for several reasons. This beach has powder-soft, sugar super white sand. It’s 99% quartz. You can walk over it and will not feel the sun heat at all. It’s been awarded so many times as the #1 beach in the country that it is insane. It has year-round lifeguards, concessions, playground, tennis courts, sand volleyball, grills, and many other amenities. Every Sunday late afternoon, musician, dancers and anyone interested are drawn to the Siesta Key Drum Circle to wait and celebrate the glorious sunset by the beach. One big problem though. During the season, basically from November to April, (which includes Spring Break) it gets so many people that the traffic jams to get there and finding a place to park becomes horrendous. However, this beach is absolutely amazing and I will always find a way to enjoy it, regardless. I have driven by Indianapolis many times, however, never stayed longer to see some of its downtown area; incidentally called, “The Mile Square”. It’s call that because of the many bars, local festivals, arts exhibit, restaurants, marathons and more.
When one thinks about Indianapolis, the first thing that comes to mind is the famous car race Indy 500. On that subject, the following are a couple of interesting facts about the race. Indy 500: Total race covers 500 miles, but the driver accomplishes all of it by doing 200 laps on the 2.5-mile motor speedway oval layout during the actual competition. Brilliant, but I feel dizzy, smile. Al Unser: This guy won this famous race 4 times. However, on his last win he was 45 years old, making him the oldest winner of Indy 500 in history. Other than car racing, there are several famous people “Born” in the state of Indiana, they are: Michael Jackson: Singer Janel Jackson: Singer Jackson Five: Singers Axl Rose: Singer John Mellencamp: Singer Larry Bird: Basketball Player Adam Lambert: Singer Baby face: Singer Steve McQueen: Actor The following photo montage includes the Wholesale District, Downtown Indianapolis, the Soldiers and Sailors Monument and other... I did enjoy my short stay during the holidays with my adorable family and hopefully, you will venture to Indianapolis, Indiana one of these days. This post is simply relaxing and no explanation or narrative of any kind is needed. The photos speak a marvelous language. Say no more you’ll. Enjoy!
During most of my travels, I enjoy watching the magic of bridges. Two of my favorites are The Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco and The Sunshine Skyway in St. Pete, Florida.
I love to watch the shapes, the designs, the colors, some of the daring positions or challenging heights and treacherous locations. Thank God for engineers who had the capacity and knowledge to design and built these magnificent structures. The primary function of bridges is to connect us, from one place to another, from one state to another, from one town to another, and so on… I believe that we take Bridges for granted, since they are simply there. However, without them we would have been limited to probably stay in one location. The next time that you travel anywhere, please, take a special look at these structures and never ever take them for granted. While you do that, enjoy the view and be thankful to those who built them and those who lost their lives doing it. THE FAMOUS MONA LISA PAINT (OR NOT?) What you are actually seeing is a Cibachrome print from After Wharhol, 1999. The dark print was created with jelly and the lighter one was made with peanut butter. PRICELESS! Che Guevara so artistically created by Alberto Korda. However, what he used to create this piece was not paint, it was black beans. This is what I call amazing artistic skills, to create a master piece with anything that is not what is typically used to paint. Finally, one of my favorites, Marlene Dietrich, who wouldn’t recognize her? Such a great Hollywood icon. However, guess what? This print was not painted either. The artist created this master piece with diamonds, yes my friends, the ones that are traditionally used in jewelry and girl’s best friends. What I just showed you is a small part of what this incredible museum has. The museum is closed now. However, if you happen to travel through Florida, and COVID-19 is under control, please stop by the Sarasota Art Museum, Ringling College of Art + Design. This museum is a platform for education, exposure and experimentation. You will never regret it. It is packed with unbelievable pieces that you will never see elsewhere else. The museum location is: 1001 South Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, FL 34236 Cocoa Beach is located south of Orlando, about an hour drive. It is the favored vacation spot for many American and International travelers. The foundation of what Cocoa beach and Cocoa City are today started after World War II, when returning soldiers decided to vacation in Florida and ultimately, retired there. Throughout the years, Cocoa Beach and the city increased in popularity and therefore, became what is today, a nice trendy and awesome place to vacation or to live. In spite of the fact that the beach alone is a magnet to draw people, another attraction nearby is the Kennedy Center, which incidentally, also helped to boost the popularity of both, the nearby Cocoa Beach and City. Time to go to the beach friends, Cocoa Beach! Cape Canaveral – Kennedy Center Aren’t we lucky to live in the country who put a man to walk on the moon for the first time? Of course we are. Thanks to an agreement between the Department of Defense and NASA to change Cape Canaveral from a military installation into the Space Coast. Although it was previously name Missing Firing Laboratory by the Air Force, it was later renamed the Kennedy Space Center, to honor President Kennedy who was responsible to put the first man on the moon. We all can remember the Space Shuttle Program, the Hubble Space Telescope and the Apollo Missions, which incidentally, is celebrating 50 years this month, July 2019. Today we can go to the Visitors Complex, offering plenty of activities for adults as well as for children. Make it somewhat an educational vacay for them as well. Admission: Adult: $57.00 Children: $47/child Military/Senior: $50.00 Port Canaveral This port has become a hub for the Cruise Line Industry. However, having easy access to the Atlantic Ocean, this port in the past was primarily the port of choice to import petroleum from Central and South America. Rather quickly, it was overtaken by the citrus industry, importing from Chile, Argentina, and Brazil. It was and continues to be the port used by NASA, to retrieve, receiving, tracking space vehicle or/and its components. Nevertheless, the Cruise Line industry is enjoying this port to conduct their travel business, moving thousands of passengers on a daily basis to destinations like the Caribbean, Mexico, Costa Rica, Jamaica and more. TRAVEL: ORLANDO, FLORIDA WEEK and BEST NEARBY PLACES PART 3: Orlando Tree Trek Adventure Park:7/24/2019 Kissimmee has lots of attractions and entertainment, however, it also offers incredible natural, outdoor adventures. For instance, experiencing a ride on a zip line in Orlando’s Tree Trek Park will be unforgettable. If you like, you can test your skills on their challenging bridges, each one taking you higher and higher into the forest canopy until you’re 50-feet atop a pine tree forest.
