Just a short two hour drive north of Scottsdale, Arizona is Sedona. Outside the city of Sedona you can also enjoy one of Arizona’s natural treasures called “red rock country”. Sedona offers a myriad of activities for its visitors. However, the best part of the short trip is arriving at Red Rock State Park. Since I live in the east coast, I was impressed with the landscape. Although arid, it is simply so beautiful. Red Rock State Park is a 286 acre nature preserve and environmental education center with stunning scenery, native vegetation and hills of red rock. The state park features a red sandstone canyon and you must plan to go. I took these photos on a hot and humid day. You just got to go and experience this in person.
