This month, I will be posting weekly “A Day Trip to the Beach”. Beaches are my favorite places on earth, followed by any place in the country, wherever I get to see the mountains. Just to say that I was fascinated on my trip to Alaska, because the mountains are totally insane!
But back to my blog posts, I selected Siesta Key to start the series for several reasons. This beach has powder-soft, sugar super white sand. It’s 99% quartz. You can walk over it and will not feel the sun heat at all. It’s been awarded so many times as the #1 beach in the country that it is insane. It has year-round lifeguards, concessions, playground, tennis courts, sand volleyball, grills, and many other amenities. Every Sunday late afternoon, musician, dancers and anyone interested are drawn to the Siesta Key Drum Circle to wait and celebrate the glorious sunset by the beach. One big problem though. During the season, basically from November to April, (which includes Spring Break) it gets so many people that the traffic jams to get there and finding a place to park becomes horrendous. However, this beach is absolutely amazing and I will always find a way to enjoy it, regardless.
