February is a short month and in many states, it is cold, rainy and nasty, a combination that doesn’t give you the motivation to go out unless it is to take the trash. Smile.

So, what are we supposed to do for fun when we are overwhelmed with house chores, virtual work and schooling, let alone the pandemic anxieties and fears for our safety, our families and everyone else? Well, we make plans for fun and in writing. I am going to drop few things that you might be interested in adopting so let’s roll, they are not in priority order:

  1. Rent an RV and travel safely with your immediate family anywhere you want to. You can sleep and cook there and of course, you won’t need to stay in a hotel. Is so much fun and safe.
  2. Plan a trip to the ocean, somewhere, where you can sit or walk around, no need to swim, just to breath and relax. It could be a day trip. No need to stay overnight.
  3. If that doesn’t appeal to you, then plan one trip to the nearest beach and swim. If there are people there, keep your distance, however, enjoy it.
  4. Plan a trip to the mountains and make sure to have access to the river.
  5. Plan to go on a fishing trip and bring some good stuff home for dinner.
  6. Rent and Vrbo somewhere in the upcoming months and enjoy a vacation with your immediate family. It will be your home away from home.
  7. Plan a vegetable garden in paper for this summer. Develop a list of what you would like to eat from your own garden and purchase or plant the seedlings after the frosts.
  8. Also, this next plan is a killer and we all need to do it. Get all your tax documents in order, collect all the forms, wages, home office expenses, donations receipts, etc. We have to do it.
  9.  Plan to re-do a dated bedroom, or re-decorate the family room, where you spend most of your home time. While doing it remember, less is best.
  10.  Last but not least, do something for yourself like start a walking program on your own. Get the necessary ingredients to have a home face mask and relax through it. Call an old friend and inquire about his/her life through this pandemic crisis.
  11. Or, make a meal, pack it to travel and add a bottle of water, then get in your car and drive around until you see a person panhandling under stress in a traffic light corner. Open your window, give the meal to the person and tell him/her that things will change if they believe they will. Then go back home and don’t tell anyone.
