​Bougainvillea’s are your landscape soldiers for years and years to come. They need basically no special attention, feeding or watering. The best part is their colors, you may have a hard time selecting one. However, be cautious about where to plant them, since they grow tall and wide if they are not pruned. In a large garden or back patio, it could be used as a stand-alone focal point.  Time to go to your local garden center.
 
Plant Stats:
 
Perennial in warmer climates only: Yes
Hardiness: As a landscape shrub outdoors, it's hardy in Zones 10-11. Bring indoors in the fall in colder areas
Deer Resistant: No, but then again they could. Is not their first choice because the thorns.
Full Sun: Yes, somewhat, keep reading.
Partial Sun:  Yes, somewhat, keep reading.
Shade: Give it some shade from the hot afternoon sun.
Bloom Color: A rainbow of beautiful colors.
Bloom Time: Blooms almost all year in warmer climates; however, best time is spring.
Plant Color: Pink, Purple, Red, Variegated, White, Orange...
Size:  If leave it alone and never trimmed, it could reach heights of a two-story house.
Water Needs: Very forgiving, but water it every now and then.
Good Companion Plants: Lower growing varieties.
